Dad's Dream

Hello everyone out there in blogging land.  It has been a bit of a crazy summer already.  Most things have not been so positive...like my husband losing his job...so when something makes me laugh I have to emphasize it.

My father had a dream about me...here it is:

My father and I were walking in an open market in Hong Kong.  I was about five-years-old and was holding Daddy's hand so I wouldn't get lost.  A Chinese woman outside of a restaurant grabbed my hand and started to pull me toward the restaurant...she obviously wanted us to eat there.  Being five, I was willing to try anything.  My Dad, a little frantic and concerned, was trying to pull me the other way.  I pulled free of him and asked what was wrong, he said, "Heather, we don't eat Chinese food."  I looked a little confused and stated with my five-year-old wisdom, "Dad, life is like a pair of underwear.  You have to change it every day...or it gets crusty."

Needless to say his dream made me laugh...it still does.  I must say, I was a very astute five-year-old.  Many pearls of wisdom also flow from my own children.
