A Week for the Records

Well folks, it has been another week of whirlwind surprises! Let's just start at the beginning shall we?
First of all, my washer broke last Saturday. Yes Saturday, the day I make up for not doing 3 loads a day on Thursday and Friday because I clean houses on those days...so I started out a little behind to begin with, but I didn't want to deal with it. I thought the washer might just fix itself...I had been able to reset it in the past when I unplugged it from the wall. Well, I just had to leave that alone for a few days because my husband had just come home with a new project for me to do...

Flyers!

7000 of these babies had to be labeled and taped by Wednesday. Each box took about 4 hours to do...so I had 27 hours ahead of me....and I of course had to tackle this project in my spare time when I wasn't driving the kids to school, lessons, helping the kids practice their instruments, helping with homework, doing the dishes or making dinner (not to mention picking up the clutter and making beds). So eventually... on Wednesday night...I got done with that.

Meanwhile...one Monday I had decided that I would go and donate blood. In retrospect I could have chosen a better week to do it, but I had been putting it off for a while (okay, just about a year-and-a-half since my Uncle had his surprise bi-pass surgery). So I had set up a date to do it...and it happened to come this week...and being a determined person...I kept my commitment.

So Wednesday comes and I am still doing flyers...not in my spare-time, but all day because they are supposed to go out by four o'clock. So, I had three hours 'till four, and 7 hours of work left. Needless to say I was under the gun, and didn't finish in time. I tried to cut out all unnecessary trips and had even given up my shower for the day, so I could have as much time as possible.

Well, the next day, after dropping off the flyers at the Post Office I hadn't showered (again) because I had no clean garments....well I did, but I had to save them for Friday (girls night out). So my husband and I went to pick out a new washer and dryer at our favorite RC Willey scratch and dent store. After bringing them home and switching out the old with the new (a project that took a lot of time because of the tight squeeze through a small laundry room door) I had to slap on some make-up and run to school for the Violinist's Thanksgiving Feast (and still no shower).

After the Feast, I ran to my mother's house to clean (still no shower)

Then pick-up the kids at school (yes still no shower)

When my husband got home, after dinner (and yes I still made dinner ever night), we attempted to install the washer and dryer. Well, we thought we had done an excellent job, we even leveled it perfectly. When I put my first load in and it started to spin...my washer started to walk, and yes I mean walk three feet from the wall. Well, we tried everything...tightening bolts, taking half the load out, re-leveling the feet...it was still walking (images of the Brady Bunch popping into my head). So, we decided to go to bed (yes still no shower).

In the morning (still no shower) I re-read the manual to see if we had skipped any steps...and we had. There were bolts we had to take out! We did so...and now I have done 7 loads! And Big Loads. I LOVE MY NEW FRONT LOADERS... I have done more laundry today than I could do in a whole week with my old machines! So worth it...but by this time...I had a little bit of laundry to make up for...

Okay...A LOT

After running the kids to school I went to clean my Mother-in-laws (still no shower).

After it was clean I ran home to get my kindergartener showered and ready for school. (one load of laundry done while I was gone!)

I ran her to school and then went to finish cleaning my mother's house (still no shower). Then I had to go get the kids from school (yep, you guessed it...still no shower)
So here I am picking up my kids from school for the third time...with no shower. I would just like to take this time to say I'm sorry for my unhygienic stench if you have been near me this week.

So now my old washer and dryer are sitting outside...being played with by my children...and probably my dog...anyone want one?

Hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas, and glad to see all is well (now that your washer is fixed :) I can't believe how big your kids are!
