I'm Back

Yeah, I know...

Long time no see!

I've had a really trying summer...that's my excuse. Lame I know, but it's all I've got. So Here are a few highlights

The Cellist had his 9th Birthday

I made him two cakes. One was Saturn the other was the moon with him walking on it.

He blew out his candles and got all his wishes!

Two days later his Dad lost his Job...need I say more!

The Violinist's Birthday

The Violinist (who by-the-way is not a violinist anymore...she is a pianist...I'll be changing their code names later and if you get confused you can look over at their pictures) had her 6th Birthday. She wanted a big party with her friends from school.

She got a party at home, with not many presents and a teapot cake!

Vacation in Washington

We went on a vacation to my sister's house. We had planned on not going because of finances, but our family didn't want us to miss out so they sent us some money and we headed up (and I forgot our camera).
It was a pretty good vacation until my daughter (the not-so-violinist, Violinist) decided to almost drown in a lake.
I was really grateful I used to be a lifeguard when I had to dash thirty yards to dive in fully clothed to save my second born. Needless to say, I am very glad I am still the mother of three beautiful children...and life jackets are no longer an option.

A Few Days Rest
We came home and had a fun time teaching the musician how to ride her bike. And boy can she ride. We only had to push her a few times and she had it. What a cute little girl.

The Accident

We were home for almost a week when this happened. The Cellist decided to try and impress his Dad by going off a bike ramp...in the dark...when no one was around. Luckily one neighbor saw him flying through the air and ran to get us. Bare in my my husband had just lost his job...and us our insurance. It was one expensive trip to the Emergency Room.

For stitches, a CAT scan

And some dental work...okay a lot of dental work.

But after he healed, he looked okay.

The Golden Spike

We Visited the Golden Spike. It was fun.

The Musical

Yea, I know, I'm hot! I was a Bird Girl in Seussical the Musical. It was a lot of fun, so much fun I'm still finding glitter in my house.

That was pretty much the end of the summer. We're still hanging in there. I hope our bad luck is over. They say bad things come in 3. Job, drowning, bike accident...I'm hoping we've met our quota for the year...maybe two years...or three.
