Halloween

We had a fun Halloween this year. Each of us carved our own Jack-o-lantern and decorated our haunted home with cobwebs, spiders, skeletons and all things creepy. My kids loved it so much they almost didn't want to go trick-or-treating.

This was the Cellist's jack-o-lantern. He was a mummy for Halloween...and it is the last time any of my children will ever be a mummy. I had to sew this costume multiple times. Every
time he would walk, he would rip the stitching...it was a nightmare! I suppose having nightmares is appropriate for Halloween.

The Violinist was the Queen of Hearts. We found this on clearance last year for $5.oo. It was nice not to have to pay for anything this year. the Violinist was informed that the Queen of Hearts was actually a villian and she was less than thrilled. She said, "Well, I'm the good Queen of Hearts." Sometime in the future I'll actually have her watch Alice in Wonderland and then she'll understand.

The Musician was an Immigrant. She spent Thursday at school with her grandmother who was also an immigrant. She was so excited to wear one of her mommies old costumes. It's nice to have a little stockpile of costumes from my performing days for just such an occasion.
The Musician's jack-o-lantern was the funniest of them all. The rest of us were going for scary, but she was going for goofy...I think she succeeded.
